How is overthinking defined here in the context of founders and startup teams? What are some examples of overthinking within these contexts? It would help to know this to be able to self-eval (at the least).

Hi Amit, thanks for asking; in this context, it's defined as being stuck in thought loops. Here are a couple of real life client examples, one relating to people dynamics and one relating to business strategy. 1- Founders caught in a thought loop (for several months in one case) about whether to part ways with a co-founder rather than taking any action. 2- Founder knowing it's time to expand their marketing strategy from online only into IRL, caught in a thought loop on whether to do the IRL rather than moving ahead to test into it.

I never thought about overthinking as a source of data or a signal. I love how you've called out that it can cue us to recognize when we're stuck or when self-doubt is taking over. I'll be keeping this in mind for me and for my clients!

When we think about experiences as data, it can also help us to have more self compassion / quiet the judgment or pressure we may put on ourselves for feeling uncertain or unclear!
